The legacy of our organization began in 1980 when a group of business owners and land developers gathered to for the "Hanover Association of Businesses". Our name may have changed over time but our purpose has survived and thrived - to support and enhance the business community of Hanover County, VA!

Brief Timeline - What's in a name?
- 1980: Hanover Association of Businesses begins work throughout County; focus on landowner rights and government affairs
- Mid-90’s: Ashland/Hanover Chamber of Commerce begins work; focus on community and business building
- 2002: A merger between the HAB and Ashland/Hanover CC – we become the Hanover Association of Business and Chamber of Commerce (HABCC)!
- 2015: Name revision as The Hanover Chamber of Commerce
- 2019: Launched the Hanover Chamber Foundation (aka The Foundation) which is a 501(c)(3) organization.
