HANOVER REDISTRICTING PROCESS

With the 2020 Census having been completed, Hanover County’s Board of Supervisors must adjust its seven voting districts to ensure a roughly equal population in all. The Board is required to adopt a redistricting plan by the end of the year.

The BOS will hold public meetings throughout the fall, likely in November or December and likely at the county’s four high schools, to finalize any proposed district changes. Then it will hold a public hearing. 

Our Chamber encourages all residents and business owners to take notice of this process and participate in the public meetings. We will give updates throughout the fall.

Public Meetings have been scheduled as follows (more locations and information to come):

• October 25, 6:00-7:30 – Patrick Henry High School
• October 26, 6:00-7:30 - Atlee High School
• October 28, 6:00-7:30 - Hanover High School
• November 3, 6:00-7:30 – Mechanicsville High School
