Citizens Police Academy - Now Taking Applications

In 1995, the Hanover County Sheriff's Office began offering Citizens Police Academy (CPA) to its citizens, business owners and county employees. Participants are given the opportunity to attend a 10-week course geared at educating participants on the many facets of a law enforcement agency. The 32nd session will begin September 14 and last through November 16, 2021. Applicants must be one of the following with no criminal background: employed in Hanover County, Hanover County Business Owner or Hanover County Resident.

Deadline to apply is July 15, 2021. Space is limited . Students are notified in early August of their acceptance into the fall session of the academy.
