Contact the event host directly with any questions about an event.

Our "Hanover Community Calendar" is populated with events submitted by you! This calendar highlights non-profit, special and neighbor events all across our area.

Hosting an event? If you, or an area organization, is hosting an event let us know. Event postings should follow these parameters:

    1. The event must take place within Hanover County OR be hosted by a Hanover Chamber member
    2. The event must be community focused and intended to provide support, fundraising, care or fun to area residents and chamber members
    3. Note this calendar is not intended for reoccurring seminars or group meetings, sales events or workshops given by individual for-profit companies

    When you submit events, please be sure to include the date, time, location/address, web link and an image or logo. Community calendar postings that fit our criteria will be made publicly visible on our website and in newsletters within a week of being sent to us; send events 4-6 weeks in advance for maximum exposure.       Support a Local Veteran

      As we continue to celebrate the veterans in our lives and in our surrounding community, here is another local story for anyone to follow along with.

      Homes for Troops has an active project building a custom house in Mechanicsville for Iraq war veteran Brian Pearce. Brian suffered permanent blindness when his vehicle hit an explosive device.

      Wings of Hope Ranch: The Nativity

       Saturday, December 6th

      13280 Tower Rd, Doswell


      This event is free of charge and fun for the whole family! It will take place in a large indoor arena at a ranch. Guests should make sure to bring chairs for their viewing of the Nativity celebration.

      They are also hosting a shoe drive with all proceeds raised supporting the Richard Anderson Rancher Fund. Please bring your gently used shoes to raise funds for Rancher programs. Any style or size shoe is accepted.

      Deck the Halls with Hanover Safe Place

       Sunday, December 7th

      500 S Center Street, Ashland VA 23005


      Deck the Halls, an annual holiday decoration making fundraiser, will be held at Hanover Arts and Activities Center in Ashland on Sunday, December 7, to benefit Hanover Safe Place. For a small entry donation, guests will receive three tickets for hardware (wreath forms, centerpiece bowls, vases, etc.) and three bows tickets. There will be experts to help you every step of the way. Create wreaths, swags, boxwood circles, table toppers, candle surrounds, and more. Our fresh cut greenery includes pine, cedar, hemlock, Fraser fir, holly and more. Create wreaths, swags, boxwood circles, table toppers, candle surrounds, and more! Our fresh-cut greenery includes pine, cedar, hemlock, Fraser fir, holly, nandina, and boxwood all cut from historic farms in Hanover County. You are also welcome to bring your own, recycled wreath forms!

      Business Watch Meet & Greet

       Monday, December 8th

      Greetings from the Hanover County Sheriff's Office Crime Prevention Unit!

      We want to invite you to stop by and visit with your Crime Prevention Unit at the Green Top Shooting Range on December 8, 2025, located at 11547 Lakeridge Parkway, Ashland, VA 23005. Between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., we will have a table set up inside for a “Meet and Greet,” where you can connect with our team, network with other businesses, and learn about current crime trends. If time allows, you are also welcome to sign up for a brief shooting session at the range, courtesy of Green Top Shooting Range, for the Business Watch partners.

      Thanks to our business partners at Green Top Shooting Range, two lanes have been generously donated for participants. Shooting opportunities will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis in 30-minute slots to ensure more attendees have the chance to participate.

      Citizen Information Meeting

      Chickahominy Middle School Cafeteria

      The Hanover County Department of Public Works has scheduled a citizen information meeting conserning the proposed roadway improvements to widen Atlee Station Road (Route 637) from it's intersection with Sliding Hill Road (Route 656) to it's intersection with Castle Tower Road (Route 1860) and Forest Drive.

      The purpose of this meeitng it to present the preliminary schedule and plans for improvements to the intersection and obtain the public's feedback on the proposed design. The meeting will begin with a presentation followed by a Q&A with county representatives.
