The 2022 "No Room at the Inn" is just around the corner.

It's a weekend long event that supports homelessness, our neighbors facing eviction and haitian families.

The event will start with a Gala Preview on Friday, December 2nd from 7pm to 10pm for adults only. There will be live music, good food & beverages, along with the chance to bid on items at a live and silent auction. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. On Saturday, December 3rd from 10am to 4pm and Sunday, December 4th from 9am to 4pm, everyone from all ages are invited to experience 350 nativities from all around the world.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $1 for those 18 and younger.

Proceeds will build two houses in Haiti and support Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions which helps provide rent to prevent eviction in Hanover County.

Number of Homes Built in Haiti will reach 31 in 2022

More than $325,000 raised.  Twenty-nine homes built in Haiti.  Dozens of local families living in safe housing.  As it marks the Fifteenth Annual No Room at the Inn exhibit, Catholic Church of the Redeemer is preparing to continue its mission to provide housing for those in need.  Since December 2008, the nativities exhibit has been a celebration of the true meaning of Christmas and a successful fundraiser.

“The exhibit includes hundreds of nativities from around the world and provides a powerful and prayerful way to begin the Advent season,” said Rev. James Cowles, pastor of Church of the Redeemer.

The No Room weekend starts with a Gala Preview on Friday, December 2 from 7 to 10 pm.  Adults are invited to an evening of food, beverages, live and silent auctions, and music.  Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.  All ages are invited on Saturday Dec. 3 from 10 am to 8 pm and Sunday Dec. 4 from 9 am to 4 pm.  Tickets for Saturday and Sunday are $5 for adults and $1 for 18 and younger.

The children’s room returns in 2022, with activities that include crafts and taking part in a live nativity. In addition, the online auction, which premiered in 2020, returns to allow folks to participate remotely. The online auction goes live on “Black Friday,” November 25.

The $325,000 raised in the past 14 years has gone to provide modest homes in Haiti and support the local work of Ashland Supportive Housing, Hanover Safe Place, Safe Harbor, MCEF, CARITAS, and My Path Forward.

Proceeds from this year’s No Room at the Inn will build two houses in Haiti and support Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions (MCEF) which provides emergency rent to prevent eviction in Hanover and My Path Forward which provides young people aging out of Virginia’s foster care system with a powerful combination of housing and crucial support services.
