Our Mission & Purpose
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to provide leadership within the Hanover County VA business community, to champion economic development while safeguarding business interests and property rights, to promote professional standards and ethics within the business community and to maintain positive relationships among businesses, educators, governments and residents.
What does the Hanover Chamber of Commerce do?
We focus on 3 main objectives:
- To create and build community across our county, across multiple platforms
- To provide relevant networking and business-building opportunities for our members
- To serve as a liaison between local government and business to champion responsible economic growth
WE ARE AN INDEPENDENT BUSINESS ORGANIZATION.
Our by-laws state our intent to be a representative of the entire local business community - not a representative of a/just one interest, business, industry, person or political party. We are funded primarily by renewals, with the addition of events & programs, sponsorships and other strategic partnerships. The Hanover Chamber of Commerce is not a department of Hanover County, but thrives with the support of local business memberships. Our positive relationship with the County greatly aids our efforts and enhances our voice, while separation from the County ensures unbiased actions and an ability to challenge ideas if needed. The Hanover Chamber is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) organization. Our federal tax ID# is 54-1148587.
