Chamber Membership – It’s a Win-Win

Your membership enables the Chamber to promote a strong community, provide networking opportunities, connect you with your representatives, impact our community’s economy, keep you informed and more.

Being a Chamber member will increase your visibility, widen your business skills and knowledge of area topics and help you stay connected while you develop relationships within the local business community.

Staying Connected

Utilize our website - You’ll find info about our leadership, a member directory, Discover Hanover County VA magazine flipbook, the County, our 501(c)3 Hanover Chamber Foundation, chamber and community events, our government officials, photos of events, resources for visitors and new residents and more…

You’ll need to Log-In with your email and password to (1) register as a member, (2) see your event registrations, invoices, payments, (3) view your member profile (upload your picture and logo to your profile), (4) access other member emails.

Make sure your profile is correct for (1) Discover Hanover, our annual magazine, (2) Online Member Directory – anyone can search by name, business name or category to find members; members have access to emails when logged in. Note: The physical address of the business is what is public so if you’ve used your home address and do not want that public, let us know.

Monthly Newsletter and the Weekly Member Minute contain pertinent info about the Chamber and county - be sure to add info@hanoverchamberva.com and our email host for eblasts habcc@wildapricot.org to your address book to ensure our emails reach your inbox.

Reminder Emails We also send a reminder email the day before each event to all registrants. It contains specific event info such as parking instructions and advance notices.

Increasing Your Visibility

Attending programs/events (paid and free options throughout the year), participating in committees, being part of our leadership academy (Leadership Hanover) and joining ribbon cuttings or milestone celebrations increase the number and variety of fellow members (and guests) you meet.

Reserve a monthly member spotlight - an inexpensive digital marketing tool made available to you. We have 390 member businesses, over 800 members and nearly 3,000 contacts in our database to advertise and get the word out about your organization.

Sponsor an event or program – choose an event you already enjoy or let us suggest a good fit for your organization/industry. Sponsors get great advertising before, at and after programs.

Discover Hanover magazine - Thousands of copies distributed across the region and a digital download/flipbook. Members are automatically listed and can also purchase ad space.

Chamber Member Window Cling and Chamber member logo – display to show others you’re invested. Let us know if you do not have them. 

Developing Relationships

Attending events – We offer multiple standard events each month, plus special events or community celebrations. Topics, locations and speakers vary so every program has purpose and networking.  We update our Event Calendar as event details are finalized so check it out often and register for an upcoming event.

Event Discounts – Use Chamber Cash (with your welcome email, with renewals and as door prizes) and our Event Passport (makes it easier to register for events and offers you an additional discount for each standard event)

Community & Civic Engagement – Our newsletters and announcements will keep you aware of local happenings affecting businesses (and residents) across Hanover and Ashland. Additionally, we host legislative roundtables to serve as neutral meeting grounds for elected officials and our members. We encourage members to be active in and informed about their county.
