Hanover's 2024 Spirit of Volunteerism Award Nominations & Celebration

Hanover’s 2024 Community New Year’s Resolutions… Do your part to honor the community contributions of others.  Hanover’s Annual Spirit of Volunteerism Award nominations forms and information will be available on January 2, 2024, by visiting www.HanoverCounty.gov/1228    

The nomination deadline is Monday, February 12, 2024.

• Make it your New Year’s resolution to express your gratitude to one or more outstanding individuals, youth, seniors, groups, businesses and others who have made an impact in our community through their volunteer spirit.
  
  

  …and Mark Your Calendars! Hanover’s 2024 annual Spirit of Volunteerism Celebration will be held on Monday, April 15th from 7:00pm – 9:00pm  at Atlee High School Auditorium.  This is a FREE event open to everyone.
  
  

  The event is a gathering for our community to celebrate all of our volunteers within various organizations and county programs who have shared their kindness and compassion throughout Hanover County.  This will also be an opportunity for Hanover’s Board of Supervisors to express appreciation for all the ways that members of our community are contributing to Hanover’s quality of life and spreading compassion across the county.
  
  

  Anyone may submit one or more nominations in the following eight categories:

• Spirit of One - honors an individual volunteer over age 18. Two honorees will be named in this category, one of which will honor service in a school setting.
• Spirit of Youth - honors a youth or youth group up to age 18 or still in high school.
• Spirit of Youth-Teams - honors an exceptional group of youth or a club whose members are ages 18 years or younger or still attending high school.
• Spirit of Dedication - honors an individual aged 60 or over.
• Spirit of Team - honors two or more adult volunteers who have worked towards a common cause.
• Spirit of Family - honors two or more family members who have worked together towards a common purpose.
• Spirit of Inspiration - honors an individual who has volunteered 20 or more years for a specific organization.
• Commitment to Community - recognizes a Hanover business that has demonstrated a sustained commitment of community support.
